Our Story

The Central Mississippi Senior Men's Golf Association was founded in 1985 as the Capital Men’s Senior Golf Association at Sonny Guy Municipal Golf Course on Woodrow Wilson in Jackson, MS. The original founders had the vision of Senior Men from different clubs around the Jackson Metro area hosting each other at their respective clubs throughout the year. League rules were established and the number of members grew and flourished.

Around 1990, our name changed to Jackson Senior Men’s Golf Association. Membership grew to over 250+ active members from all walks of life. The number of events grew as well, often having to play over a two day period to accommodate all of the entries. Annual Christmas party socials were celebrated in grand fashion for many years with our wives & guests at various host golf clubs.

Our focus on community involvement included volunteering at Mississippi's only PGA TOUR event, then the Southern Farm Bureau later becoming the Viking Classic. In 2013, Sanderson Farms became the sponsor, and the PGA TOUR event was moved to the Country Club of Jackson and our volunteering continued.

In 2022, we changed our name to Central Mississippi Senior Men’s Golf Association to reflect the wide range of tour stops beyond the Jackson Metro area.

Now 40 years strong, we continue to expand and add new event stops and members.
